FAQs

OUT OF HOURS

Will you still be open in the evenings for appointments or will your opening hours change?

We will still be open in the evenings. We will now close at 6.30pm instead of 7pm.

Is there an up front charge if I have to use the out of hours?

Full payment is required at the time of all OOH consultations with MiNightVet.

How do the new out of hours charges compare to your current out of hours charges?

The current charges for using the MiNightVet service are as follows:

6am-8am – £207.30

8:30am-7pm -£149.70

7pm-10pm – £207.30

10pm – 6pm – £236.90

Will the vets in Trowbridge have easy access to my pets records in an emergency?

We will be transferring to a new computer system in the coming months which will allow the MiNightVet team to have access to your pets records.

What happens if my pet comes into you late in the day and then we realise they need to be kept in, do I have to then drive them to Trowbridge?

If you call us before we close then we will be able to see your pet and treat them at Macqueen’s in the majority of cases. There may be very occasional conditions where we feel the treatment is best provided at MiNightVet as they will have a vet and a nurse with your pet for the whole night whereas we will have a nurse on site and a vet on call from home.

If my pet has had an op and I’m worried about anything when I bring them home do I now have to call the OOH service in Trowbridge and not Macqueen’s?

Yes, we would ask that you call the team at MinightVet team.

If my pet has an op and needs care overnight where will that care be provided?

If your pet has a procedure with us and need’s to stay overnight they will stay at Macqueen’s where we still have a nurse onsite to provide inpatient care, one of our vets will be available to provide advice and treatment if necessary.

If my pet goes into Trowbridge and needs to be kept in will they stay in Trowbridge until they are better?

If your pet is treated in Trowbridge overnight, their vet will have a conversation with our vet the following morning to discuss what treatment is required and if they feel your pet is able to be transferred back to us and you as the owner would be happy to do so they will come back to us for continuing treatment.
